We are thrilled you are interested in hosting a collection drive to help provide essential hygiene and period products to people in need. Hygiene collection drives are a meaningful way to engage your colleagues, family, and friends in community service while raising awareness of this critical need in Lincoln.

Limited access to hygiene and period products can affect people's health, school, work, and daily life. Because these items aren't covered by SNAP or WIC, many people rely on community organizations for support. We distribute these essentials through a network of partner agencies, much like a food bank.

 

​Step 1: Decide on a hygiene collection drive category.  Consider your network’s interests to maximize enthusiasm and participation.
 

• Period hygiene partner – tampons, pads, liners

• Hair hygiene partner – shampoo, conditioner (textured and untextured hair)

• Body hygiene partner – deodorant, bar soap

• Dental hygiene partner – toothbrushes, toothpaste
   

Step 2: Plan when and where you will host the collection drive.
 

Step 3: Promote your collection drive.
 

If you let us know ahead of time, we can create flyers and provide bins and bin labels. We will need your logo and a written or electronic acknowledgement to advertise on our social media platforms.
 

Step 4: Offer an incentive to increase participation. 
 

• Corporate offices -  “Casual for a Cause” day.

• Fitness studios - “Clean Start” donation for a free class raffle entry.

• Churches - “Care and Comfort” collection during services.

• Schools and PTAs - “Hygiene for Success” student donation challenge.

• Retail stores - “Round Up for Hygiene” at checkout.

 

Step 5: Coordinate the product delivery.

Step 6: Get your results. 

 

We will provide you with the number of items collected so you can share your results with your supporters. They will be excited to see how their collective efforts helped those in need!
